The Daily Show returns, for real

In other political news you may have missed, The Daily Show and The Colbert Report will air their first new episodes this Monday night. However, since the strike still hasn't ended, they're doing it with no writers. This isn't optimal, of course, but I've seen Jon Stewart do interviews. I still think that an ad libbed Daily Show is better than none at all.

Also, Stewart will be a guest character on The Simpsons this Sunday.

The Simpsons was a true keeper last night, spoofing the media coverage of the primaries. I don't think anyone - voters, candidates, media, even children, escaped the satirical wrath. Which brings up a good point - the script really seemed to hit hard on the media hysteria post-Iowa. Almost looks as if Matt Groening ad-libbed a bit after the writers' went on strike, although I understand he has almost nothing to do with the show directly anymore.
